~~Certified Wildlife Habitat @ kattz*cottage~~
We are very excited at kattz*cottage that we qualified to be a "Certified Wildlife Habitat" ~~ doing our part to take care of any & all wildlife that enter this lively place we call home. We are happy to share our gardens & our woods with so many creatures from birds, owls, frogs, toads, bats, armadillos, raccoons, squirrels, rabbits, tons of insects & now our thousands of Honeybees! We provide shelter, water, food, & they provide us with hours of watching pleasure! I realized when posting this that I never have my camera in hand when I see these creatures ~ so that will be my next project - to try to get some wildlife pictures. So without the wildlife, here is the habitat! TZ found an old cedar log in our woods to display our new sign proudly!

Hi, I just found your blog! I've thought about getting our yard certified, too, but have never taken it beyond the thought. The cottage looks like heaven...!
You have a great property! This sounds like a fun thing to do. I imagine we have all the elements we need. I should pursue this, too! It's very cool ;-)!

This is the NICEST thing ! and what a lovely place you have.

WOW! That sign looks good in your pics, like something you would see at a zoo! Good for you Kathy. ANd I want to say the same thing I said last week, "Better your yard than mine!"
How cool is that!!! I need to sign up with them too since I have a huge back yard at the cottage and lots of bunnies hide out there.....and lots and lots of birds! Thanks for all the nice pics. :)
Hugs,
Debbie
That is so cool about being a wildlife habitat!! I didn't know you could do that. The inside of my home should qualify, with all our critters; I sometimes feel like I live in the wilds. And the last picture with the dog is so cute!! What kind of tall flowers are those?
I kind of burned out on posting for awhile. But I still read them!
P.S. I DO live with wildlife. We had a rat in the house the other day - on TOP of the cable box INSIDE the tv cabinet. The three cats were not remotely interested even when my daughter showed them. But the dog went nuts and caught it and killed it. We were just going to catch it and take it several blocks away. My husband said it was just a huge mouse; whatever, I don't want to see another one.
This is great news!
I absolutely love those hollyhocks!
Have a wonderful weekend!
